Christmas Minis 2022

I couldn’t be more excited!! This is the first year I’m doing Christmas Mini’s, and so far, it’s been a blast!!

Photographing kids is both a joy and a challenge. What’s that old showbiz saying? Never work with kids or animals? lol.

At the moment I’m taking bookings manually (until I figure out one of these automated booking systems…) ;) So check out the times available below and email me directly with your prefered time and I’ll book you in my paper diary! lol

The aim is approx 10-15 minutes of actual photographing time - allowing time for the kids to get over their shyness of new people and a new place, and then trying to get the best, most funnest pictures we can.

Check out the info below so you know what to expect when you and your cutenesses arrive!!

WHAT TO EXPECT AT YOUR SHOOT

Hey! Thanks for popping by!

LOCATION

First of all, I’m based in central Thames. There is a car park directly outside the property - but there’s also plenty of parking over the road or at the mall. When you book, I’ll email you the details. :)

THE STUDIO

The space I’m using currently is the front of our home. And, unlike a traditional home - we live in what used to be a Pottery Studio - so it’s one big open space! (Think Snow White and the 3 Dwarfs. lol.) So expect to see my wee family in the background, Granny or Nanny popping in randomly, and my very helpful assistant Miss Clover (who’s 6) being there to make sure I’m doing it all right!

Now, as a footnote to that - our bathroom is useable but preferably only in an emergency. It’ll be renovated soon hopefully! It’s clean, but seriously not very pretty!!

WHAT TO WEAR / BRING

I have a small collection of clothes (sorry, mainly for girls at this point!) for some ages/sizes (building this up slowly). I’ll put a link here once I’ve got some of them photographed and sized so you know what to expect!

Other than that, I have santa hats, tinsel, christmas beads, headbands, chrismas little antler ear things, and a bunch of other little props they can interact with.

So feel free to pick something off my rack, or bring your own. Obviously Christmas colours are great - but other than that, think: beige, jeans, white, black…. Just neutral colours/styles make for the best photo’s. But truthfully - whatever you want - I’ll photograph. ;)

This is not one of my images (unfortunately!) Just making that clear since this is a photography website. lol. It’s simply just pretty and lovely and Christmassy. :)

WhAT IF MY KID/kids are SHY Or DIFFICULT

It’s not a problem.

Have kids that are shy or play up around others? It’s all good - I’ve got 3 of my own!!

I am not beyond bribery (I have mini packets of MnM’s) or giving the kids something to distract themselves - like tinsel or my original Farmers Missy Bear to hold! But feel free to bring that favourite toy or blankie if they are self concious without it.

Also, getting little people to show me their “best moves” (think ballerina, model, twirling) is a great way to losen them up. Their favourite silly face, and better yet - their favourite silly word! I normally start with “boogers” and we go from there. ;)

Even if your toddler decides to be a diva, or your teen just wants to be moody - I can guarantee at least a couple of good images!
