Red, Wolf & the little White Rabbit

ONE DAY WE DROVE PAST A BEAUTIFUL LOCAL STATELY HOME, AND I THOUGHT “HOW COOL WOULD IT BE FOR RED RIDING HOOD AND THE WOLF TO BE DOING HIGH TEA TOGETHER AS FRIENDS, ON THE PORCH?”

Unfortunately, they were doing some major renovations, and the kids are a bit older now - so it doesn’t have the simplicity of young children simply making friends that fit into my original vision. But we made do with some of our local forestry and the Red Woods over in Rotorua to bring at least part of my vision to life. So, meet: Red, The Wolf, and if you look closely, you might spot the shy White Rabbit in there too. ;)

Also, as this was done over some time, both the children and my editing style have grown - so you may spot some differences in the images. And I’m experimenting with adding grain to give a more almost softer, textured look. Forever learning, forever evolving.

PS: Huge thanks to my beautiful family that played along and helped out behind the scenes and encouraging me when it got hard - you’re my everything.

The hood

The hood used in these shoots comes from an AMAZING local company called Wolf and the Wildling. I believe this is actually the “fox hood” but I also own a couple of white wolf hoods and a bunny jacket. They are seriously, the most beautifully made, heirloom quality items. And yes, you’ll see me and the kids wearing them around town. ;)

I’ve also just discovered they have an affiliate program (which is exciting cos I’m always raving about their hoods!) - so if you buy through my link, I receive a small commission.
